In Henry, Henry, one actor embodies two warring personalities. Though the duality is apparent to the audience, other characters see an eccentric man who occasionally talks to himself. The Henrys clash over digging up the past, when he murdered the priest – Father Bryant – whom he had idolized, before catching him abusing a child. The Henry’s clash culminates in a suicide attempt. They recover and replace their internal war with a dangerous but redemptive obsession.
