When a fish merchant’s son rehearsing his wedding vows in a moonlit wood slides the ring onto what turns out to be a skeletal finger, in a world where the dead sing and drink and are far better company than the living, a bridegroom dragged underground by a murdered bride must find his way back to the girl still waiting at the altar, before her parents marry her off to the very man who put his new wife in the ground.
