When a king riding an imaginary horse is instructed by God to find a sacred cup, in a world where peasants lecture him on constitutional theory and a small rabbit guards a cave, a monarch nobody elected must lead his knights past a bridge-keeper’s riddles and a castle of taunting Frenchmen, before the quest is brought to a halt by something entirely outside the story.
