This is the second book of two book series – we learned from the first book ( XENO Transplant – The Thorne of the Red Jaguar) that a nurse who carries the painful memories of the loss of her family in a tragic accident is on a quest to save her patients from potential harm of a secretive genetic engineering project in her hospital. The genetic edits utilized in the project were discovered by the chief research physician while gene mapping a tissue sample of an ancient Mayan priestess unearthed in a recent archeological excavation a few years earlier.The Doctor further learned of an ancient book that lay alongside the body, indicating the Mayan priestess had received healing from the Gods that restored her health to that of the Gods. The Doctors preliminary testing showed the genetic edits do far more than restore health and plans to use this to his advantage.
