Take care.
Perhaps more detail?
Odie, your proposed version has removed critical details. From your amendment, we must now ask: Is the protagonist’s problem with one of hubris/humility? is she an attention seeker who forced herself into the limelight and is now paying the price?
Is her gift real? is this a supernatural story? or is discovering whether or not it is real the point? Or is her problem that has now realised that her ‘power’ never existed and she has lost a sense of her own life’s purpose?
The OP logline addresses what the protagonist WANTS, (to return to stasis) but that isn’t what she NEEDS. This is what the movie is really about.
The movie begins with the Thesis (her stable life with her little ability)… then we are thrown into ANTITHESIS when she’s thrust into the limelight… here she must discover what she NEEDS in order to achieve SYNTHESIS in the third act.
What is the movie actually about? What is the Synthesis that the protagonist needs to achieve?
Does she need to regain her power (if her power was real)?
Does she need to accept the reality that she was always a fake, and now needs to atone or find a new purpose in life?
Does she have a real talent that has simply been suppressed/lost due to a lack of confidence?
Regardless of whether or not this is actually a supernatural story, it kinda feels like this film fits into the “Superhero” genre.
thats a few of my thoughts.
GOOD LUCK!
