      1.
“what complication shows up as a result of his confession” might lead you somewhere,
since most audience wouldn’t be satisfied if “he didn’t confess” and “she leaves” (also the film will get over)
no one would sit an hour & a half, waiting for him to decide. Decisions cannot be Goal

      2.
“drunken hookup” is an event but maybe not the Inciting event…Why? Currently it reads as:
“after falling in love with his work wife over a party, a man must confess or lose her forever…” (which is logical, how else would she know?)

      3.
“to confess” is a short-lived action which cannot sustain an entire feature length film

Focus on what’s stopping him from confessing — Is she married (unhappily) to the brother, whom he owes his entire upbringing?
Or she can’t marry him for some other reason? Maybe she’s an alien sent to retrieve a human specimen, but she can’t since she fell in love too

      Conclusion:
In romance (genre) focus on the forces keeping them apart…

      Good luck mrtz17!!

As variable said, deciding is one moment in the plot.? A logline is a concise statement about all the moments in the plot.? What the logline needs to tell us is not his dramatic dilemma (deciding whether to decide), but the choice he makes.

As a result of the situation what does he actually do?? Specifically, what becomes his objective goal?

Check out “Our formula” at the top of the web page for guidelines on how to formulate an industry acceptable logline.

I would like to know why it’s so important for him to confess his feelings toward his work wife? Is the ad exec married? Is he not happy with his marriage? If he is, what is it about his work wife that it’s worth risking his marriage?

Assuming he knows she has a boyfriend, why would he want to profess his feelings toward her?

After a drunken hookup with his work colleague at ?her leaving do made him realise she is the love of his life, a meek inventor trapped in a loveless sham engagement with the domineering daughter of his boss has one night to chase her and convince her of his love before she flies abroad to get married.
