After stealing a mysterious present on Christmas Eve, a selfish little boy must repent or be devoured by a monstrous elf.

My idea for a Christmas Horror Short film I’ve had in development since the beginning of the year.

Originally: “After opening a mysterious present on Christmas Eve, a selfish little boy must repent for his actions or be devoured by a monstrous elf.”

      Dig it.
Hard to envision this “mysterious present” so I drift in and out of the Family genre. Up the clarity on this present, we need to start hating on this selfish boy immediately e.g. Santa’s gift for his orphanage or Santa’s special gift for his disabled brother kind of thang. Whatever you go with tie your monstrous elf directly to it – I want to know this demon is the guardian of X and is hungry!

      Keep it up! Take care.

Thank you! I’ve been trying to figure out the clarity of the present as I rewrite whilst maintaining the monstrous elf within the logline standard.

repent to whom?; v/s being devoured by a monstrous elf, isn’t that an obvious choice?

Repent to the entity taking form of the elf who is haunting him for his act of stealing on Christmas.

His selfishness in wanting to open his presents early instead of following tradition.

      UPDATE:

“After stealing a mysterious present from Santa’s workshop on Christmas Eve, a selfish little boy must repent to the vengeful spirit of Santa’s helper.”
