Perhaps I lack a clear understanding of the theology behind Hell, but I thought that it was one’s soul that goes to hell – wouldn’t he be too late?

And how exactly would he go about extracting her from Hell? Is he a supernatural half man half angel or something or other like that?

What Nir Shelter said. ?The logline plays rather fast and loose with Catholic theology. ?Which can be done up to a point. ?There are rules and a story leveraging the Catholic notion of hell has to conform to them to retain credibility. ?One of them is that once a person is consigned to hell, there’s not way back. ?Nobody in the corporal, temporal world can save some one else.

      (Purgatory is a different matter.)

Well, if you look at the series Supernatural everything is possible. 🙂
This is more based on the story of Dante with the divine comedy.
Anyways i was more interested if the logline is technically correct.
