Revealing that they start out ‘wanting the ghosts removed’ and then eventually need to team up with the unwanted ghosts may not be a good idea for the logline.

Capturing ghosts and forcing them to commit crimes is, however, brilliant.

Focus on a protagonist in the family.

Come up with a ticking time bomb and a ‘or else…’ and you are in business.

I think there is some interesting story in why they now want to help the ghosts.

I don?t care what my pest guy does with the bugs as long they are gone. There is a bit of a disconnect for me.

Obviously, the ghosts would come off as unwanted at first but later be represented as the emotional-garnering people who the MC realizes are now worth saving from the antagonists. This is classic Spielberg misdirection here. And that’s also where the character arc would come from.

Pretty sure we aren’t talking about the pest removal of bugs here. 😮
