Set 25 years after the fog set in over humanity, the new city of Blowing Bush, deep within the Appalachian mountains remains the sole remaining human settlement, that we know of. Our story revolves around Zac, a deeply cynical yet timid 15-year-old boy who comes into contact with a younger, afraid boy from beyond the fog. His presence and the way he got through the fog begin to unravel the hierarchies and systems of the town. Ultimately, the town slowly, yet exponentially, begins to destroy itself and both boys ultimately find a way out of the town and journey ahead southward in hopes of finding newer, better shelter.
