When a woman whose entire family dies in a single night follows her half-hearted boyfriend to a nine-day midsummer festival at a remote commune, in a world of white nights, flower crowns and rites that come round only once every ninety years, a grieving outsider nobody wants there must work out whether the horror unfolding in broad daylight is a nightmare or the first place that has ever held her, before the festival picks its final offering.
