I have rewritten the logline in response to your helpful advice:
“Fixated on becoming wealthy, the sudden death of her husband doesn’t stop this woman placing her ambition way above the welfare of her teenage stepson. He contemplates suicide. She gets into financial strife. From the tangles, bonds and mixed loyalties can they rescue each other from failure? ”
The obstacle is the dire financial failure she gets herself into. Action centres on the conflict between her and stepson.
I have completed the screenplay to 89 pages. I am about to take it to a script consultant.
