(It’s been a while since I watched Home Alone, so I may be misremembering but I think there’s some resonance between him being disconnected from his family, and fighting to save the family home.)
Also, I’d like a sense of his inner journey too. What must he learn in order to successfully defend his house from the robbers? I can’t remember what that is for Home Alone, but I do recall that the actual defending is only the last fifteen minutes of the film, and that Kevin’s emotional journey is the core of the movie.
I really don’t recall well enough to say, but something about forgiveness or Christmas spirit, or whatever it is that gives him the courage and willpower to fight off the burglars.
