Moriamo Onabanjo was born in Plainfield New Jersey to Adebayo and Adebisi Sanni. The entire family moved to Nigeria when she was a toddler and she spent the next 30 years there. She studied architecture and eventually became an Associate Professor in the department of Architecture at Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife. She is currently enrolled in the Full Sail University Creative Writing program.
