Privacy Policy

What follows is the legal side of things. It covers much the same ground as the privacy policy on every other website you use, only in plainer English. If anything is unclear, drop me a line (email is at the bottom).

Effective date: 10 August 2026

The Story Department (“we”, “us”, or “our”) runs the Logline It website (the “Service”). This page explains what personal data we collect when you use it, what we do with that data, and the choices you have.

We use your data to run and improve the Service. By using it, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. Terms used in this policy have the same meaning as in our Terms and Conditions, available at Logline It.

What we collect

Personal Data

While you use the Service, we may ask for information that identifies you or lets us contact you (“Personal Data”). This may include:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name
  • Cookies and Usage Data

Usage Data

We may also collect information about how the Service is accessed and used (“Usage Data”): your IP address, browser type and version, which pages you visit, when and for how long, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on the Service and hold certain information.

Cookies are small data files, sometimes including an anonymous unique identifier, sent to your browser and stored on your device. We also use beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyse the Service.

You can set your browser to refuse all cookies or to tell you when one is being sent. If you do refuse them, some parts of the Service may not work.

The cookies we use:

  • Session Cookies, to operate the Service
  • Preference Cookies, to remember your settings
  • Security Cookies, for security purposes

How we use your data

Logline It uses the collected data:

  • To provide and maintain the Service
  • To notify you about changes to the Service
  • To let you take part in interactive features when you choose to
  • To provide customer care and support
  • To analyse how the Service is used so we can improve it
  • To monitor usage of the Service
  • To detect, prevent, and sort out technical issues

Where your data goes

Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to and held on computers outside your state, province, or country, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

If you are outside Australia and choose to provide information to us, note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to Australia and process it there. Your consent to this policy, followed by your submission of that information, is your agreement to the transfer.

We take all steps reasonably necessary to make sure your data is treated securely and in line with this policy. No transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organisation or a country unless adequate controls are in place, including the security of your data.

When we disclose data

We may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that it is necessary:

  • To comply with a legal obligation
  • To protect and defend the rights or property of Logline It
  • To prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing connected to the Service
  • To protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public
  • To protect against legal liability

Security

The security of your data matters to us; keep in mind that no method of transmission over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. We use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, but we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Service providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals to help run the Service, to provide it on our behalf, or to help us analyse how it is used (“Service Providers”). They have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks for us and must not disclose it or use it for anything else.

Links to other sites

The Service may contain links to sites we don’t operate. If you click a third-party link, you go to that party’s site. We advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit; we have no control over, and take no responsibility for, the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site or service.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not aimed at anyone under 18 (“Children”), and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you know your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we learn we have collected Personal Data from children without verified parental consent, we remove it from our servers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post any new version on this page, let you know by email and/or a prominent notice on the Service before the change takes effect, and update the effective date at the top. Changes take effect when posted here. Check back now and then.
