In the final stages of war between three factions, an incredible warrior and huntsman is called upon to secure, protect and adapt a defenseless faction called Avagon in return to fulfill a lifelong family vendetta. If anyone would be so kind as to give me a straight, honest opinion on this concept for my 3rd year game project. Thank you!

      >>>to secure, protect and adapt a defenseless faction

From whom? ?Who is the adversary, the antagonist?

Also the stated objective is, well, defensive. ?What’s the offensive game? ?Because that’s how games in virtual reality and games and wars in physical reality are won ?– by later or sooner ?going on the attack. A protagonist should be proactive (have an offensive strategy), not merely be reactive (on the defense).

The game needs an offensive objective goal, a flag, a location, a prized possession, a liberated love interest — something that when attained means they’ve won. ?What is that objective goal?

If this is for a game, the logline will change whether the player can only play from the point of view of one faction or whether they have the ability to play all three faction.

It will also help if we know the genre.

Is it a first person shooter? (A game with a linear story line and thus an easier logline)
A strategy game (Where you control a faction, building up resources and trying to defeat the other two factions to win the game. Probably a more difficult logline)
A 3rd person action game: (Such as Diablo, with cut scenes that tell a story)
Or possible an Open world sandbox game (A little harder to come up with a logline)

The genre will affect the logline because in a strategy game the logline would consist more of a ‘situation’ where as in other types games there would be story points and a more clear logline.

Adapt them into what? That is the key to the logline for me. Don’t need as much set for a film as you may for a video game.

To fulfil a family vendetta a warrior must transform a helpless faction into a …… in a hope to …….

      I hope this helps.

Okay then, The most important part of the logline and story would be the games opening event.
This will also be your characters call to action.
What compelling event happens at the beginning of the game that calls the Character to his course of action to defend Avagon?

In logline terms, you would open the logline with “When (This compelling event happens) a brave huntsman must defeat…)

For instance in Skyrim; the opening event is the return of the dragons,?
      —–
“When Dragons return to ravish Skyrim, A prison?born on a certain day, under a certain sign, must travel to High Hrothgar to learn the ways of the voice to defeat the Dragon menace.”
      —–
So I would look at the opening of your game and ask what compelling event sets your characters path and then use that event to begin your logline.
