When a grizzled NY reporter is sent to Savannah to uncover a gay murder, he/she/they realizes they must fight through the pleasant Southern facade to get the awful, unbelievable truth.

Not saying that’s it, but if it’s about people then lead with people. And detail the conflict. And never have a list!

regardless, if you’ve written the script already, one of the rare thoughts that easily has enough for a feature

Not too many movies are sustained by lust. Have you seen Naked? It's lust - but broadly stroked. This seems rather narrow. No mention of love, what does the first sentence have to do with anything anyway? Wouldn't he be just as lustful if she was just there and didn't need to be cured? Needs more

Okay, thinking this needs more if you're going to sustain a feature. Either the villages just decide to kill him, or he is able to get out easily. Or not easily. But he needs more than just his freedom to get out, that's already stated. and why is it called Woman in Dunes if it's about a guy?
