If you look at the logline for the Wizard of Oz does not mention the tinman , witch or the scarecrow etc. Just mentions girl gets transported to a magical land and tries to find her way back home. So there is only so many details you could jam into a logline.

Okay, so great draft and an interesting concept, but here are a few notes.

1, a logline should only be a single sentence. Your goal is to tell us who the main character is, what the conflict is, and what is at stake. It does not have to be in that exact order to my knowledge but this is the common formatting.

You already have the three pieces of information you need to get the right logline, so the struggle will be breaking this down to a single sentence. My advice is to not worry too much about the details about Heather and just focus on what matters the most. Main Character = Professor Taian Russo | Conflict = Finding peace for Heather | Stakes = Possession by a ghost.

2, I mentioned it above but as a future reference note, don’t be too concerned with how specific your details are here. The goal of the logline is to just present the bare concept of the story with no extremely detailed explanation. That comes with a synopsis.

Give it another shot and good luck!

The concept sounds interesting, so I aplaw you there. Is this a feature film idea or like a short TV show?
