Because it’s a comedy, ?I am more willing to suspend disbelief on how the story is set up.
My primary question is: ?so what? ?What’s at stake? ?What is the story trying to show, to say about religion that ?would make it worthwhile for me to invest some of my precious time and limited money in watching this movie? What’s the dramatic point? ?What theme are you ?trying explore that I might find amusing, if not enlightening?
Agreed with Dkpough1, the stakes are not clear.
Further more, is the priest drunk just on the day they decide to set up a new religion or all the time? And why a theatre director? What would come of these two collaborating that would make them interesting?
What makes these two decide to create a new religion? What is the inciting incident? What stakes do they have, what do they gain by creating this religion and what would they lose if it fails?
