Is this a short story? Just curious
An intriguing premise, but what is keeping the father from keeping up the pretence, or even calling the police? Does the entire film take place over the course of the meal? What drew his to come to the restaurant in the first place – does he want something off the friend?
The plot is vague as the inciting incident and goal are not specifically clear.
What is the inciting incident? Them being served human meat? Going to the restaurant?
What is the goal specifically? What do you mean by protecting his daughter’s innocents? Prevent her from eating human meat? Prevent her from knowing she ate human meat?
As the others have said.
The stakes of the story are a reconciliation between father and daughter and I just don’t see how the outcome pivots on the restaurant fare.?Why doesn’t he just tell his daughter about the fare and they both leave the restaurant, reconcile somewhere else? ?Why must he stay at that restaurant? ?Why must he protect his daughter’s innocence — that seems to be an additional stake?
What’s really at stake here? Reconciling with his estranged daughter or protecting her innocence in a?cadaverous situation?
Furthermore, what is the main action the the MC will take?
I just can’t see enough ‘meat on the bones’ (pun intended) for a whole feature length story.
The good news: I have never seen this movie. Die hard I have seen (Die hard on a plane, die hard on a train, die hard in the white house) Boy meets girl boy does something stupid, boy makes grand gesture I have seen before… but father and daughter going to a restaurant that serves human meat… so you have that going for you.
However, as others point out, the goal starts off with his desire to reconnect with his daughter but his actions are to protect his daughters innocence. In the logline you should explain how those connect or at least explain why he does not just walk out and go to McDonald’s.
Maybe they could bond if in the end they discover they have eaten her mother and his ex-wife??? No? okay my bad, not good at all.
Father and daughter reconnecting is a good base for a story and can make for an interesting film, however, the cannibalism feels like it’s tacked on as a click bate device more than a plot necessity. If cannibalism was somehow a part of their lives then it would fit in better, right now it feels like an external add on for ‘crazy’ effect.
