      “a group of fisherman’

Don’t use “must save their lives” when you can use “survive”

I would simply say “after running aground,” no need to mention the mist.

Definitely mention the father and son somehow. Unseen predator suggests ghost or spirit.

Clean this up and it sounds like something I would want to see.

“When they are attacked by a mysterious being after running ashore, a grizzled fisherman and his crew must discover the source of the beings power and destroy the thing before it kills them all.”

The father/son story is the B plot, it need not be mentioned in the logline – best to focus on the A plot, which is to escape the boat. This is a good example of a genre movie, like you said, a monster in the house or supernatural thriller, they’re relatively straight forward plot wise and always have an audience.

Best to specify the MC as either the father or son, for example:
After a fishing troller runs aground, the injured captain’s son must lead the crew to safety away from a bloodthirsty being that rose from the depth on the night they crashed.
