Akim is a boy who was born blind and lives in a semi-medieval kingdom of Zanzima. Akim’s father is dead and he is close to his mother, Rena who tells him that he is as good as any other boy. Akim has to deal with local bullies because he is blind and poor. His mother falls ill and eventually dies. Akim is distraught and before his mother dies, she tells him that his aunt Fatima will care for him and that she has prayed for the spirits to protect him. A divine Ladybug by the name Ladyan makes contact with Akim. Fatima moves into Rena’s house with her two daughters and takes over. She kicks Akim out of his room and sends him to the streets to beg for food. Akim’s dream for a new loving family is shattered.
Barok a wealthy businessmann dreams of ruling Zanzima and thinks he can do a better job than the current King Hassan and Queen Latifa. Barok hatches a plan. He puts poison in Queen Latifa’s drink. The queen gets gravely ill and eventually dies. This affects the King and their only child, Prince Rahim who misses his mother dearly.
Rahim has a good heart and cares for the people of his father’s kingdom. One day he encounters Akim. Both boys lost their mothers and share a common bond. Rahim even gives Akim his shoes after seeing how poor he is.
To further his plan, Barok brings a witch to curse Zanzima with drought. The farms dry up.
The Zanzima’s people are starving. The people grow frustrated and desperate and question King Hassan’s leadership. The elders perform the rain chant which was banned by former king but to no avail.
Barok’s goal to rule Zanzima is closer than ever.
However, Ladyan helps Akim to discover that he has a special power which gets activated when he plays his drum. Akim is able to manifest his thoughts and he fills the entire kingdom with food. Zanzima is saved through Akim’s abilities. But the curse remains.
Barok cannot believe what is happening. Akim is foiling his plans to become the supreme ruler of the kingdom. He attempts to kill Akim but, Ladyan revives nearly dead Akim. Akim breaks the curse on Zanzima. King Hassan adopts him and Akim finally gets a loving home with Rahim as a brother.

Reading your synopsis, I am convinced that the “abused poor blind orphaned boy” is the lead character. If so, you need something like this:
An ill-fated blind boy and his fairy guardian must help break the curse that is spelled by an egoistic businessman who plots to overthrow the kingdom and become a king.
