I am attracted to the? story because:
1]I want to see how he pulls it off without getting caught.? It essentially becomes a heist flick, does it not?
2] I want to see the character arc, how circumstances provide an opportunity for a nice guy, a heretofore compliant, law-abiding milquetoast, to unleash his repressed shadow .
As for moral justification, what’s the moral justification for Danny Ocean ripping off the treasure vault of 3 Las Vegas casinos?? ?There really isn’t.? The? audience buys into the character and the heist on the basis of emotional factors.? So sell the emotional justification, not the moral.
Regards and best wishes with this story.
I like the premise.
How about:
A mild-mannered, disgruntled teller uses a hostage situation during a bank robbery to steal the loot for himself.

Is the protagonist male or female?
A re-working of an old idea.
