      This is a single moment. Could drop killer, death tell us it wasn’t a tax issue. Death also gives us a ticking clock. But what transpires around this event. What’s his goal?

      Isn’t his objective goal more than the prove the guy is innocent? ?Isn’t it also to bring to justice the real culprit?

      And what’s the inciting incident that gets a psy-cop (or more accurately, a psy-detective or inspector?) take up the matter? ? It’s not his job to get involved so late in the judicial process. And with his unique skills, I imagine that there would be many other cases urgently clamoring for his attention.

      So why this case and why now? What triggered his interest? ?What made him need to put all his other cases aside and get involved in a case that was already supposed to have been solved?

      Agreed with Craig and DPG.

      I’ll add that memories are subjective, we often remember by association so our own impressions can skew the true events in a memory. How then can the cop or detective rely on what he or she finds?

      What is the goal? What is the obstacle? Sure, the cop wants to prove the man’s innocence, but why? He was his best friend? He’s the cop who sent him away? What prevents the cop from getting the info right away? Is there a possibility the cop could get stuck in the convict’s mind? If the convict is executed, the cop dies too? That would raise the stakes. Maybe the convict isn’t innocent but holds the key to another crime or one about to happen. The convict doesn’t want to give up the info and once the cop is in his mind, the two have to battle in a surreal dreamscape. There is a lot of potential here, but you need to raise stakes and provide an obstacle to the goal. Best of luck!
