This describes a situation, not a plot – the primary function of a logline.

Best to focus on one main character, not an arbitrary number of individuals. Who specifical will this story be about? And what specifically must they achieve?? How will they thwart the invasion?

As I see it, it’s more than just a situation; it could easily be the entire second act.

I’m not entirely sure exactly what technologically challenged means. Are they a bunch of people who don’t know how to program their VCRs, or whatever the contemporary equivalent of that is? Senior citizens? Nothing wrong with that, since I get the feeling, this is a comedy, or at least have comedic elements.
I agree that even when there’s a group of leading characters, there needs to be a clear protagonist, a leader. One character to focus on, even if he has a group of friends to help him.
This protagonist needs a goal, but I suppose that is to stop the alien invasion. It’s always good to have a ticking clock, and also what’s at stake? What happens if he fails?
