The theology at the base of your concept doesn’t work. According to Christianity, Jesus will return – he is the Messiah, not some one else. If this boy is Jesus 2.0 then describe him as such, otherwise, it reads as if this other person is the Messiah which is true in Judaism.
When a small town reverend is baptized by a teenager, a priest is sent to investigate his claim that the boy is the next Messiah. (25)
In order for the premise to be credible , it’s necessary to establish that Christianity, akin to Buddhism, supports the belief in either reincarnation or a prophesied manifestation of yet another Messiah.
Which it doesn’t. ?So what is so unique about the kid that would motivate a Catholic priest to overcome his theologically based skepticism to check it out? ?
IOW: ?what is the inciting incident that makes the local priest think the kid is the Messiah ver 2.0?
This logline sets up a situation. What happens during the investigation? Or after it? What’s the mystery, the drama, and the crime? What’s the priest’s goal? Describe what will be happening on screen, not just the situation that brings about the action.
