I’m a little confused.? Why does the grandfather blackmail? If we know why the grandfather wants to blackmail it might make more sense.? Who is the main character? – the outcast son or the grandfather.

Find your true inciting event, it seems to me that the story begins when the problem shows up, so when the granfather blackmail him. I don t think blackmail is the good word anyway. Focus on story, what happens?

      As Wayne said.? Why blackmail?

The whole blackmail gimmick doesn’t work for me.? As a born and bred country boy, I?could get?enthusiastic about? the logline if it ?exhibited a more sympathetic understanding? and appreciation of rural culture and values, what?really?motivates rural folk to cultivate their land and?dream of passing it down from?one generation to the next.
