Great logline. I like the premise of the story! Did the wife die or did she just run away? If she died, I would try to end the logline with that fact in order to make it more dramatic. Something like:

An Animal Psychologist fakes a coma to bring his estranged kids home for Christmas, all according to the last will of his departed wife.

The idea is different but it doesn’t give us any hook as if this plan isn’t going to work. Why might it fail? What is holding the kids back from returning home? Calling them kids as well makes me think they are really young but I’m presuming they’re not.

This opens a lot of questions, the ones I’ve listed above plus; why can’t he just ring up and ask them? If their mother had just dies why wouldn’t they come home to be with their father? As well I go back to the stakes, what are the consequences if he fails to bring them back? And why an Animal Psychologist?

A few questions to think about as the log line gives us the basic but not much in the way of drama..

I like the idea, but this logline leaves to many questions (I agree with kriss)

The protagonist should always be on the move, doing something….It’ll be hard and boring to watch if he’s doing nothing but laying in a bed faking a coma for the entire movie? (Which I doubt is your story, but that is how it reads)

Will we be watching him plan the coma? Is anyone else on board with this hoax? Tell us in the logline if so.

It’ll be interesting to see how you would spin this. As I said earlier, like the idea.

      Best of luck
