I like the dystopian theme!
“Rebels” is too weak. I’m sure he goes to greater lengths to stop it. And … to stop what? Are they trying to sell his child? Be precise, also about the child’s gender. ‘Son’ or ‘daughter’ immediately sounds more involving t the reader.
Who exactly is he up against within the company? Surely there is a fearsome antagonist and at some point, our hero will have to fight for his life.
I’d like to see this potential in the logline.
Finally, I would like to see what the final outcome would be for the movie. Do you have a visual end goal? Is this practice going to be stopped for once and for all? How can this be achieved?
I’m not saying all these questions need to be answered – but some may have to be addressed in the logline.
I think an antagonist needs to be mentioned. You have kind of mentioned his company doing the wrong but is it his boss who orders it to happen as a way to get back at the protagonist? Or is it a deeper government issue that he is fighting against and it is a politician he seeks to stop?
I would also find a way to shorten the opening segment. Could you not just call it a capitalistic future?
You are right Karel and Kriss, thanks. While I started writing more on the nature of the rebellion, I scrapped it in favour of brevity. I’m learning that it’s a fine balancing act between short and punchy, yet having enough to paint a picture and give the elements clearly.
So below I’ve tried to (a) make clearer the antagonist (b) added the childs gender and put a timelimit on the situation (c) get to the conflict quicker….
How about this:
“When an evil corporation evokes a hidden clause in an advertising worker’s contract, he must fight to save his soon-to-be-born daughter from becoming the marketing property of the company – a frightening situation that his own work made possible.”
Further thoughts appreciated – thanks
Just a heads up:

The concept sounds similar and its also called “Branded”.
Wow. That is actually a little spooky. I had absolutely no idea that film existed, yet there is certainly quite the similarities (though not the question of a child). But the same name! Wow….guess I’ll have to rejig this one….
I did have an alternative name: “A word from our sponsors” but found “Branded” a bit more punchy.
Oh well, back to the writing board….
