An interesting concept but:
1] Why a fictional post-ap world when you can have a similar romantic situation arise now in the real world with transsexual people?
2] The logline sets up a situation but not a complete plot.? As a result of their falling in love, what dramatic problem does it create?? ?What’s the dramatic goal to solve the dramatic problem?
It reminds me of Kimi no Na wa (Your Name-2016) by filmmaker Makoto Shinkai
“A teenage boy and girl embark on a quest to meet each other for the first time after they magically swap bodies”
If you are headed in this direction, you might consider studying this film.
So, currently the two of them are a girl (who is a boy) and a boy (who is infact a girl) right?
And their goal is to give birth to their saviour…
Then what’s stopping them from coitus?
Without conflict it’s hard to frame your plot into a logline. It would read something like:
“A boy and girl must give birth to the guardian of humanity”
Set in post-apocalyptic period: As a key to human-race survival, two troubled hermaphrodites must conceive a child. Problems arise as the apocalyptic creatures seek the same (or the child or them).
The last apocalyptic creatures can be replaced with your antagonists. But if this helps.
I think the ‘falling in love’ thing can be the part of the bigger picture, hence did not mention.
If you say the baby is to be the savior of the world, then you should tell us what the earth is to be saved from.
One cool plot twist could be, they are never boy and girl at the same time. So they must have a baby to be the savior the world, but every time they are ready, they are either both boys or both girls.
