      I believe the set-up is solid, but I am not so sure about the Marilyn Monroe angle.

      However the rest I like: It’s Halloween, a TV show with dwindling ratings tries a publicity stunt. They are going to hold a seance in a legendary hotel rumored to be haunted. (They could even be trying to contact Marilyn Monroe)

      It’s a contests and we get a divergent group of skeptics and believers to take part (Sort of a Halloween dare) all to be televised live. Things go wrong when; instead of contacting Monroe, they unleash a demon who begins killing them one by one.

      So I think there is potential,

      Here would be an attempt at the logline while leaving out the Monroe angle:

      “When they accidentally unleash a demon while holding a seance as part of a publicity stunt, a divergent group of contestants must discover the key to banishing the beast and escaping the infamous hotel they’re trapped in, while all the gory details are streamed live on the net.”

      It has to?involve?Marilyn’s ghost, she’s the hook.? It might be that?the?ghost killing the guests is?of a failed actress who’s spirit is also in the hotel.? She was jealous of?Marilyn in life and now also in death.

      Maybe the?remaining guests have to enlist the help of Marilyn’s Ghost?to survive and battle the ?jealous ghost.
      This would keep Marilyn as a hero character and not the antagonist.

      Maybe the group of people holding the seance as a stunt are producers, (They are promoting their new horror movie) and Marilyn and several former actresses who are now ghosts are out for revenge on any Hollywood exec who has ever forced an aspiring actress onto the ‘casting couch’

      I like the general direction of that Richiev.

      I am a big fan of Marilyn Monroe.? I have read all her well researched (not salacious)?biographies and of course watched her films and her interviews.
      I would like to bring her back as the ghost and either she helps the hotel guests.? OR she is fed up with general exploitation and people calling her dumb and saying she couldn’t act and maybe even infer she was murdered.? maybe she’s like “enough”? and kind of like CARRIE she burns everyone alive.

      By many accounts she was moody (whatever that means) .? I would almost rather the hotel guests have to talk to her and console her and listen to her grievances.
