i love comedies about that kind on “leaders” i dont know if you are italian but in my country, Spain, we had censorship till the 70’s, and the only way to critizase was comedy, comedy not about the dictator but about people near to him or people who love him.? This reminds me a lot of that films.
But there is a little issue, The cliff jump is a campaing, why it has to be a cliff jump? They could find other kind of strategy.
The main goal seems to be to improve Mussolini’s public image, in that case the jump is just one way between a lot of them.

I can see that logline as a shortfilm, it looks like it only going to be that moment, all the people expecting Mussolinis jump, but he dont want to do it,

      >>marketing team

      Better:? propaganda bureau.

      >>>The marketing team are all main characters ? like reservoir dogs.

Mussolini was a dictator not a syndical anarchist.? Which means there would be a pecking order, a top-down hierarchy;? somebody would be in charge of the El Douche’s propaganda campaign.? Like Goebells? ran Hitler’s propaganda operation.? That’s the way things are run in a dictatorship.? The propaganda bureau can operate like a comedy writers’ room, but somebody should be nominally in charge, reporting to El Douche.

      >>they discover that their leader is afraid of heights.

And then what?? What becomes the objective goal?

And is there a conspiracy on the part of some one in the bureau to manipulate El Douche’s narcissistic ego to get him to kill himself — an assassination plot?
