I’ve seen the movie, and it’s true she was a difficult person to like.? And that’s the way she’s portrayed by? Melissa McCarthy.? (Fun fact:? she loved to play phone pranks.? She impersonated Nora Ephron once too often; Ephron got a cease and desist order against her.)
However, the way the movie plays out, she is not motivated by a lust for fame.? She’s portrayed as a writer who wants to get published, get her biographies read.? And when she no longer can, out of economic desperation she turns to forging celebrity letters.? She’s just trying to survive, make end meets.? ?And to do that by forgery entails maintaining a low profile.
I haven?t seen the film. But in reviews I heard she was nasty and craved the love fame gave her. So what about this?
A bitter once successful writer desperate to regain fame and the love of an audience starts forging celebrity letters to make ends meet. (But)
I think it needs and end on it.
