Trapped into a lease with his ex-wife… Good start, anyone who has ever been stuck in a?bad lease will understand

A young writer must… still going strong, however, don’t use the term young, instead, give us something about your lead character’s personality.

Now drop the rest and tell us what he must do in relation to the inciting incident. How will he get himself out of the bad lease?

The goal should relate to the incident that begins the story. (Trapped in a lease with his ex)

Yeah, they are trapped together I feel like they almost need to pretend to still be a couple during this period.

Anyways, you have a setup and but not much after that.

When when he is offered a publishing deal for his guide to a successful marriage book, a struggling writer must convinces his ex to pretend to be his wife for a year while he finishes and publishes his book.

      Agreed with Richiev.

Also, I can not tell you how often we get writers trying to push “…coming to terms with…” as the MC’s action in a story. This is one of the most overused and ineffective ways to describe the action your MC will take – it’s all internal and therefore will not make for good visuals, not to mention, it mostly relates to the inner journey of a character not the pursuit of an external goal.

This feels like acTV series not a movie. A movie can be done once, a TV show is s universe. His struggle to come to grips with single life isn?t a single goal.
