Two NYT investigators must pursue three decades of sexually harassed women to incriminate a powerful film producer.

      1. What is “NYT?”

      2. What do you mean “pursue three decades of sexually harassed women?” Are they currently investigating, opening past cases that date back to three decades ago? Or have they been following a trail for the last 30 years or so?

      3. What is the inciting incident? Why now?

      4. Give us some character. Some flaws hinting that a transformation arc will take place.

I think this logline would make a solid movie.? I think the main thing missing from gianni’s comments is the inciting incident.? Flaws might help, but I think the most important thing is a sense of why these guys must do anything.? I figure the answers might be the investigators believe the story is big, and would either benefit greatly careerwise (maybe they’re about to get fired), or maybe? they think these crimes need to be brought to light.? ?I’d suggest maybe the paper is in trouble, but this is the New York Times.? They’re doing fine, and you can’t really stretch the truth that much when you’re doing non-fiction stuff based on Harvey Weinstein.

?In reality two New York Times reporters,? Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, just published an expose that is the culmination of the years of investigation and reporting to expose the sexual crimes of Harvey Weinstein.? They own the rights to any dramatization of their accomplishment.? In fact, their literary agent has already optioned the book to Hollywood.

So two investigative journalists doing their jobs… Not sure what about this makes for a good story.

Is there a big bad someone they’re fighting to get the story out, or some other form of resistance? If not, there’s not enough/at all conflict here from the journalists’ points of view.
