When a climate activist with low self-esteem learns the new mayor will turn their experimental eco-metropolis into a foreign trade capital, she mobilizes a citizen eco-force to protect this Shangri-La. She fails, but ends up birthing a global sustainability revolution in which she’s the new leader.

<p> A depressed climate activist with low self-esteem, is invited to live in an experimental eco-metropolis. Once there, she learns that the newly appointed mayor is going to turn the city into a foreign trade capital that will destroy the environment, so she mobilizes citizens into a makeshift eco-force to protect this Shangri-La. She ends up losing the fight, but with her newly discovered abilities and her self-esteem restores, she gives birth to a global sustainability revolution in which she’s the new leader.

      You shouldn’t give away the ending in the logline.

      Leaning towards:
      “A meek climate activist sets out to save her beloved eco-metropolis when the newly appointed mayor trades the city natural resources for economic growth”

      I understand there’s an ecological downside to foreign trade, but I didn’t immediately equate the baddie mayor’s intent as the destruction of their environment. Thus, I broke it down to its common denominator for readability purposes.

      With her meek start, I kept the mobilized eco-force out as I considered it a “B” story plot.
