A re-edit of my original camera collector premise.
I figured that the camera being cursed would make more sense than possessed because curses, usually, have a history that can be researched in horror films. One of the critiques of the original was, what is the purpose the camera and how does it fit within the story other than a catalyst.
Lemme know what you guys think.
It?s a very solid re-work so major kudos on that.
To start, I would flip the two parts of the logline. ?Set the characters and the inciting incident at the beginning (she sees the death through the camera) and then get into the stakes/Why the action is worth writing a whole script about.
I also second dpg, make sure you are specifc on what the camera can actually do. ?Is it a camera that causes/sets death in motion like the video in The Ring or does it predict the circumstances around death like the pictures taken in Final Destination 3?
It might work if the plot is setup in a way that establishes a track record for the camera.? That is, the protagonist discovers evidence that several snapshots of death events created by the camera actually came to pass.
And then the camera takes a snapshot of the death event of her husband.? (Or even more emotionally effective, her children.? Who are innocent and helpless.)
fwiw
Better, but…
It’s one thing for a camera to foresee the future.? It’s another thing for a camera to make the future happen.? Can the camera make what it photographs come true?? Or is this just a variant of the “pre-cog” plot of the “Minority Report”?
