This sounds interesting the stakes are high and the events are clear.
I suggest re wording the logline so as to involves the antagonists earlier.

After Air Force One is shot down in a terror attack over an uncharted Island, a sole surviving publicist must safeguard the launch codes until the rescue mission arrives before the psychotic terrorists can find them.

All the publicist needs to do is destroy the launch codes. ?In fact, he wouldn’t even have to do that.

All powers would be ?transferred immediately to the Veep or the Speaker of the ?House, or the Secretary of State — down through an order of cabinet officials — per the Constitutionally clarified order of succession. ?

And the military codes that went down with Air Force would be rescinded, new ones issued by the military for the Vice-President or whoever is next in the line of succession.

The military already has a contingency plan for a worse case scenario than the one in this logline — the worst one of all. ?When POTUS gives his State of the Union address to Congress, all the powers that be in the 3 branches of government assemble in the Capitol, in the House of Representatives.

That is the ?prime opportunity to try to decapitate and paralyze the U.S. government with a terrorist attack.

But it is standard operating procedure that ?one cabinet official stays away, off site, miles away in a secret, secure location, ?to take command in case of an attack that wipes out the Capitol and everyone on site. ?( I’m not making this up. ?I used to work on Capitol Hill — this is common knowledge.)

dpg made a great point about your story, because a story must be consistent within the reality it’s created.

However with one little ?tweek I believe your story is still viable:
      ————————————————————————-

When Air Force One crashes on an uncharted island, a conservative reporter must protect the only other survivor, the newly elected liberal President, before the ambitious terrorist who shot down the plane find her.

      ————————————————————————-

Hope that helps, good luck with this!
