Maria, aka Nonna, has raised Angela and her older sister, Lisa, since their parents died when they were children. The feud begins when Lisa gets pregnant at 19 and Nonna kicks her out of the house. Years later, the feud rages on while Angela tries to end it. When Nonna has a massive stroke, will Lisa finally give in so that everyone can move on?
When Nonna has a stroke, Angela has to decide if her life-long quest to settle the feud between Nonna and her sister is worth continuing.

Nicely done. It grabs my interest, and causes me to ask some significant questions about what the life long feud is all about. Makes one curious, and want more.
Also, the stroke creates an interesting dilemma….perhaps you might include information about the type of stroke, or how recent it was. Did it leave Nonna with an inability to communicate or process information? Does that create the urgency in settling the feud? Is she approaching death in ICU? etc.
I’m not sure if that’s enough to make a movie though. I hate saying this but is this idea “high concept” enough? Is it going to be interesting to read or watch? I’m not sure. I guess it depends in how it’s written. If it is a story you are really passionate about than by all means write it. I’m just giving my two cents.
This invites a lot of questions: Who is Nonna? What is her function? Who is Angela? Her sister? It’s not clear. What’s the feud about? You answer this in your synopsis but these questions have to be answered in your logline. As it stands, too many questions = not appealing. Also, the dramatic arc is not interesting enough to me. If this is a drama, I need more than a family feud to hook me into your story.
When her older sister suffers a stroke, a [Angela’s description] reaches out to her eldest sister to broker a peace agreement before a decades-long feud tears their family apart forever.
Best of luck!
Hi it52,
You might want to look up the definition of “high concept.” You might be surprised by what it means.
Enjoy!

“She has to decide if it’s worth it.”
Makes me wonder if it’s worth my time to go see it.
It would be interesting to read/watch if it was written well. My goal is a good story, not necessarily whether it’s “high concept” or not. With that said, I do appreciate your feedback. If you don’t think it’s interesting enough, it may not be. Thanks!
Thank you, everyone!
Should not mention names in logline just mention sisters.
Two long feuding sisters must decide whether to continue the feud
after one has a stroke.
I know what it means.
I def understand. I do agree that it could work if it was written well. I guess it depends.
