Yup, just read about this sale to Lionsgate. The article mentions the heart of the story: While Jack, Amy (the cyborgs), and Sam (the boy) attempt to blend in among modern suburbia, they hilariously discover that they may actually be the family they have been looking for all along.
First take: When their creator passes away, two sentient cyborgs take his son to the suburbs and struggle with an incognito life as they seek a real family for the boy.
When their developer suddenly dies, two cyborgs must override their primary programming to find a family for the developer?s son.

Although I suggest a more interesting plot might be something like:
When their developer suddenly dies, two military cyborgs must modify their primary programming and learn how to parent the developer?s son.
But, if it’s already a done deal…
“..must go against their programming..” makes me want to know what were they programmed to begin with. It will help us visualize the span of their action.
I like the premise. Which of two is leading the action?
What happens if they do not find a family for him?
