When a shepherd who read murder mysteries aloud to his sheep is found poisoned outside his trailer, in a world where the flock believe death happens only in books and that they turn into clouds at the end, a crime-obsessed ewe, a ram who forgets nothing and an outcast winter lamb must work out which villager did it, before the only policeman for miles arrests the wrong man.

Who is the protagonist who leads the flock through solving the murder?

The logline should be written from the protagonist's POV, which would hopefully present why they must be the one's to solve this crime and not anyone else.

Why must they solve it? What's at stake?
