    Tony: As usual, you raise some interesting issues. And I wish I had the time to respond in full. But I don't. So for now I will opine that I am not so sure the conventional formulation of the moral premise works for "Gladiator". I hope we can explore this further as time permits.

    You already have a fascinating character + an intriguing situation, a strong two-fer. Go for a three-fer? Well, the three-fer you posted is a not only longer, but a little awkward. And if it's a 'secret', my gut reaction is to save the reveal for the pitch. fwiw
