Two aliens assigned to monitor earth can bring in only one earthen TV channel, TV Land. They become enamored of the stars of the 50’s. When at last they are allowed to land, they assume the identities of the persons they have seen on their one channel. They are dismayed to learn the transition from outer space to earth ages them tremendously. They roam the population without effort until they encounter their dopplegangers.

Sounds like a documentary of present times to me from someone who is just slightly psychic.

Everybody unwishes their wishes. That's why they don't come true. The answers to your questions occupy 110 pages of an animated feature film script. Unwishing is certainly negative. The story certainly is about being positive.

"religious yet guilt racked hitman" seems incomprehensible to me. I'd have to see a very very long back story on this one in order to comprehend the meaning of it! Sorry it doesn't ring my bells to examine the story…
