    Also, it seems a bit convenient (for the writer) that he chooses to become a vigilant in order to avenge his brother’s death. Otherwise, with no fighting, or other wise vigilant, experience himself he could just have gone to the police to help catch the killer. It isn’t made entirely clear why an other wise ill equipped brother goes out to catch the killer.

    Now the the brother has to “put on” his brother’s temperament as well as his clothing and personality. ?And, of course, initially it will be a very uncomfortable fit.

    Also the inciting incident is of his own doing, but good inciting incidents are thrust onto the MC. By having the event come from an external force the MC is made to take action to fix something that happened out of the ordinary, other wise if he caused it then it’s not unexpected and mostly by his own fault – correcting this will only bring him back to a neutral state instead of being better off than he was before the inciting incident.
