With Earth on the brink of destruction, a despairing shuttle pilot leads a team to explore parallel worlds for a new home, but each new Earth they find has already met a cataclysmic fate within a year of own.
"within a year of own"? ?I think there should be a "their" before "own". Also a "shuttle" pilot? trying to reach other versions of Earth? Seriously? We earthlings aren't up on interstellar flight but wouldn't an interstellar craft be a bit more impressive than a shuttle? How fast are they, because iRead more

Also a “shuttle” pilot? trying to reach other versions of Earth? Seriously? We earthlings aren’t up on interstellar flight but wouldn’t an interstellar craft be a bit more impressive than a shuttle? How fast are they, because if Earth is on the “brink of destruction”, don’t have a lot of time to do many interstellar flights, and get the human race to safety especially if all we’ve got are shuttles.

Hi Roger,

For short films, the rules are somewhat more lenient. They don’t always have 3 acts.
Also, on this site we prefer ‘development loglines’. They reveal as much as possible. When you’re sending a logline to a film festival, it may be shorter, and ‘tease’ rather than ‘reveal’.
Who is the main character? Is it the son?
I’m asking because it depends on the MC what the inciting incident is.
If the son is the main character, I would imagine he has to justify, or even defend the friend (an alien, I take it?) over dinner.
Because the reader will guess that the friend is an alien, why not mention it? It may save you a few words.
In summary, I would like to get a better feel for what sort of conflict to expect.
Have fun loglining!
Cheers,
Karel
