A man comes across a YOUTUBE video of his abducted daughter, now he must use the clues in the video to find her.

      Great sounding premise but painfully similar to the Taken franchise.

      Best to make the inciting incident an event that happens to the MC not by his own doing. What if (as Richiev suggested) the abductors send him the you tube video and from that moment on he must pursue them instead of by chance stumbling over it.

      But even then this is Taken all over again you would have to specify that the MC is not an ex special forces guy or secret agent to make it different and increase the obstacles he will face. If anything to distance it from Taken.

      What if the daughter faked the abduction to get insurance money instead of legitimately being abducted?
