Rancid Meat (comic series)

The origin story of another superhero franchise? So this is not a logline for story that, if translated into a movie, would be encompassed in one feature film?

Perhaps try breaking this down into the building blocks of the premise the series will be based on.
After a young man is given a journal from the future outlining the set of events which leads to the destruction of humanity he must stop them from happening in order to save the world.
Also is there a personal aspect you could bring into it? Such as he needs to save the world to save his family or exact revenge on the wrong doers for killing his wife.
However it is unclear, as DPG suggested, whether this is an outline of the concept for a franchise as a whole or the logline for a specific story with in it.
Hope this helps.

Yea… its actually for a comic book :p
And well he can’t possibly know how bad and bleak the future is. But I set it up so we see it within the first five pages of my first script. But basically if that future comes to be, and he is the catalyst for it, the world will be in ruins, his friends dead, and evil will be ruling (for what purpose, still working that out. Got how it will end, just don’t know if I want that empty: We will rule it all – especially when the world is in ruins, what is there to rule? You know.

If he dosen’t know how bad the future is why does he act?
The inciting incident is him being told the world will end there for he needs to take action to stop it. This event in which he is given this knowledge must be on screen or page and must happen to him to motivate him.

Thanks! yea that was some good stuff. I have modified it so now he knows the state of the future based on the journal. Now it is a matter of him and others actually believing it. Another thing worth knowing is that the hero is terrified of the future. He doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life, and is scared all his friends will move on and leave him behind. So in a way, when he finds this journal, it doesn’t scare him, no matter how bleak the future is, because he for once feels he has control and knowledge of it. The reason he takes on this task to save the world/his city is an attempt to further keep his friends and them “hanging out” essentially.
