Her father committed suicide and her stepfather is still alive, but later dies.
Why does she have to do this now? And what will happen to her if she doesn’t reach her goal? I think it would be stronger as (in the feedback above) there’s a specific goal in mind.
What sets the lead character down her path?
For instance: Does she meet ‘the perfect man’ only to realize she’ll never be able to truly fall in love until she faces her past?
Also, is this just about a woman in therapy? Or does she confront her father about the terrible things he did in an effort to get closure?
In other words, how does she figure out the pieces?
Because how she gets closure is what the story will be about.
