The premise is DOA: MGM owns the trademark and the copyright on all things relating to the Pink Panther franchise.

I love the title. It really makes the logline work. That being said, using a franchised character may present all kinds of hurdles. Doing so makes the logline justifiably short. As much as I’d like to recommend rewriting it without using this famous character I think this is a movie I’d like to see (or write). Have fun with it and good luck.

If you write this logline in such a way that it explains what Clouseau wants/needs – and what’s stopping him, then what you have there is comedy gold. BUT…Clouseau is still ultimately a man with a good moral compass and I don’t quite reckon he’d jump ship and go FULL SHARIA unless tricked.

Bring back Clouseau, Steve Martin doesn’t count.
