As the others have said.
And if he’s a god why does he need the help of a mere mortal?? Why can’t he — why doesn’t he just do the job himself?? Isn’t that the whole point of having gods in stories — because they can do things humans can’t?? So why doesn’t the deity do the research himself??

Agreed with Richiev, there’s a lot happening here but very little to do with a plot.
Why MUST he work with this deity? What made this situation come about? And what motivated him to do this? In other words, what’s the big event that starts the story off?
What, specifically, is this knowledge and how will it help to stop a natural disaster?
The basic elements of the premise have definitely got high stakes, but it’s not clear how the to and fro of events and actions will progress the story.
A lot of the elements are in place…
However; I am unclear, is the brother-god the brother of the lead character or the Romanian deity?
(And if the brother-god is the sibling of the Romanian deity would that mean the deity is the lead character?)
